DNOW Information
DNOW 2022 (A.K.A. DiscipleNOW)
- What: DNOW is a weekend retreat where students stay in town, experience group worship at Central Baptist, and stay in the homes of church members. Generally, each grade stays in a host home with students of the same gender. We will have a guest speaker and worship band.
- When: Friday night, February 25 – Sunday morning, February 27. See full schedule below.
- Cost: The cost for the weekend is $30 until February 13, at which point the cost will increase to $50. This covers 4 meals, a T-shirt, and an awesome weekend with our guest speaker and band.
- Transportation: Transportation will be provided by approved adults. Students cannot transport other students.
- What to Bring:
- Students will sleep on the floor. Bring a sleeping bag or inflatable mattress.
- Snack foods and a 2-liter drink/pack of waters you will enjoy. These will be shared with others in the home. Meals are provided except for dinner Saturday.
- $15-20 to go out to eat a nice meal on Saturday night with the Host Home.
- Clothes, a Towel, toiletries, medications
- Bible
- No prank items, fireworks, or weapons of any kind
- Time Away Forms: Some students have games and other events during DNOW weekend, and we certainly want them to experience as much of DNOW as possible. In order to keep track of where students are we have created a Time Away Form. It is available at cbcdecatur.org/students and can be printed out and given to the Leader at the Host Home when they arrive Friday night. This form is required for a student to be allowed to leave DNOW at any point.
- NEW THIS YEAR!
- In the past, students have gone to the church with their DNOW luggage on Friday night. This year, the students will go straight to the Host Homes with their luggage and enjoy dinner there. You will know the Host Home address & phone number before DNOW begins.
- This year’s DNOW is just with our church student group.
- Our guest speaker is Steve Browning. Our worship band is led by Jordan Milar, who led worship for us at our fall retreat last year and did an amazing job!
DNOW 2022 Schedule:
Friday:
- 6:00-6:30 PM—Arrive at host home (go directly there)
- 6:30 PM—Eat dinner together at host home
- 7:30 PM—Arrive at church
- 7:45 PM—Opening session: game, worship, sermon, small groups
- 9:30 PM—Leave for host home
- 11:30 PM—Lights out at host home
Saturday:
- 8:30 AM—Wake up
- 9:00 AM—Breakfast at host homes
- 10:15 AM—Arrive at church
- 10:30 AM—Morning session: game, worship, sermon, small groups
- 12:00 PM—Lunch together at church
- 1:00 PM—Scavenger Hunt
- 3:00 PM—Head back to host homes to relax
- 4:30 PM—Go out to eat with your group at restaurant (bring money for meal)
- 6:45 PM—Arrive at church
- 7:00 PM—Night session: sermon, worship, small groups
- 8:00 PM—Pizza, karaoke, & night games
- 9:30 PM—Leave for host home
- 12:00 AM—Lights out at host home
Sunday:
- 8:30 AM—Wake up and pack up
- 9:30 AM—Breakfast at church (on 3rd floor)
- 9:45 AM—Highlight video & group pic
- 10:00 AM—Sunday School
- 10:45 AM—Worship service (everyone sit together)
