Bible Reading
We recommend the following one-year Bible reading plans
1. Discipleship Journal give you four daily readings beginning in Genesis, Psalms, Matthew and Acts (NavPress).
2. Read through the Bible in a year, with each day of the week dedicated to a different genre: Epistles, The Law, History, Psalms, Poetry, Prophecy, and Gospels. Download: PDF
3. 5x5x5 plan Read through the New Testament in a year, reading Monday thru Friday. Weekend are set aside for reflection and other reading. Especially beneficial if you’re new to a daily discipline of Bible Reading.
4. The Chronological Reading Plan allows you to read through the Bible in the order the events occurred chronologically.
5. Every Word in The Bible Read through the entire Bible one chapter at a time. Readings alternate between the Old and New Testaments.
6. Historical Bible Reading Plan – The Old Testament readings are similar to Israel’s Hebrew Bible, and the New Testament readings are an attempt to follow the order in which the books were authored.
7. The Legacy Plan – This plan does not have set readings for each day. Instead, it has set book for each month, and set number of Proverbs and Psalms to read each week. It aims to you more flexibility, while grounding you in specific books of the Bible each month.
8. The Bible Eater Plan – Old Testament: Read to 3 chapters per day and take 4 days off per month. Read 1 to 3 designated one sitting Old Testament books each quarter. New Testament: Read 1 chapter per day and take 4 days off per month. One gospel is assigned to each quarter and Romans and Hebrews are assigned twice across the year.
9. Two Year Reading Plan – Read the Old and New Testament once, and the Psalms and Proverbs four times.
