We will be leaving at 7:30 AM on Friday morning and returning around 5:30-6:00 PM on Monday night.
Laguna Luau will be from June 30-July 3 at Laguna Beach Christian Retreat Center in Panama City Beach, Florida. We will leave on Friday morning and return on Monday afternoon (in time for all 4th of July activities). On this retreat, there is a guest speaker and worship leader, quiet times, small groups, group games, recreation, and free time. Our guest speaker this year is Christ Trent, who is a Youth Ministry Catalyst for the Georgia Baptist Mission Board. He has been in youth ministry for over 20 years and is a sought-after speaker. Our worship band will be led by the Jacobs and will also include some of our friends from Church of the Oaks in Tuscaloosa! The cost for this trip is $199 ($175 for a second/third child). Chaperones can come for free & scholarships are available—just let us know if you would like to go or need some financial assistance.
Beach Retreat Packing List:
Bedding: Sleeping bag or sheet/blanket and pillow for bunk beds.
Toiletries:
- Soap and shampoo, Toothbrush and toothpaste, Deodorant
- 2 towels—a beach towel AND shower towel
- Washrag
Clothing:
- Comfortable and cool clothes for 4 days
- Bathing suit (for Saturday and Sunday)
- *Guys—make sure your bathing suit is appropriate for a church setting in length (no speedos or super-short legs) and that you also bring cool/comfortable shirts to wear around the camp. You are not allowed to walk around the camp with your shirt off unless you are getting in the water.
- *Girls—wear a bathing suit that is appropriate for a church setting. One pieces, high waisted, tankinis, and other bathing suits that cover most of your stomach are all acceptable. Thongs, bikinis, and any swimsuits that reveal lots of the body are NOT acceptable.
- Pajamas
- Underwear
- Rain jacket
- Sandals, slides, or flip-flops
- Tennis shoes (if desired—there is a basketball court)
- Sports jersey or team apparel for “jersey day” (if desired)
- Hawaiian shirt for Luau day (if desired)
- American clothes for Monday (if desired)

Money: Students will need money for lunch on the way down and back (probably $25 total for both meals). There is an ice cream store and coffee shop on the campus of the retreat center that students can go to during free time.
